Red White and Blue

 It's been a while since I have blogged. 

In retrospect, this blog is a journal of my makes over the years and I would like to keep it updated. So after a brief pause picking up in chronological order. 

This was a quilt I made without the use of rotary cutters or rulers. I had read a book on tribal motifs in quilts and wanted to give this motif a try. It is fairly simple to make, just take a square piece of fabric, make four cuts and applique it to the background fabric. A close up for a more detailed look.

The fabrics are handwoven and left over from previous projects. The choice of colors was just what I had in the scrap pile. I hand quilted it with alternating blue and white sashiko thread.

Based on the metadata on the picture seems like I finished this in October of 2023.
